Italian sieved tomatoes with a rich texture and a bright red colour.
It is ideal for all recipes requiring a short time of preparation and to add flavour to dishes.
We make La Fonte Tomato Puree Passata (12x24oz) with selected round tomato varieties grown in sunny and fertile Central and Southern Italy.
These tomatoes are harvested between August and September at their full ripening stage.
We sort, sieve, and cook with a pinch of salt at low temperature.
Then we create a smooth sauce with rich texture and bright red color.
Awarded 1 star at Great Taste Awards: Judges commented “A passata with rich texture and deep colour.It’s gently aromatic with a pleasing balance of sweetness and acidity – a sound base for many a sauce. A soft and silky texture which melts in your mouth”.
We make our product from fresh tomatoes, without using concentrate or puree.
We do not add sugar, sweeteners, artificial flavors, thickeners, or firming agents to it.
Packed in glass bottle and tin lid.
Good to know: The Italian word passata means “passed through” as people used to make this smooth sauce by passing through a sieve peeled plum tomatoes.
