“Special…beautiful…lovely Italian tomatoes” as commented on James Martin’s Home Comforts.
These tomatoes are sweet with a very subtle amount of acidity. They are also plump and finely textured. This combination creates a perfectly balanced tomato as the base for a tomato sauce which makes them the top choice of the best Italian and international chefs and pizza chefs. They are ideal for your special pasta sauce, pizza, soup, or simple topping ciabatta bread with drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and a sprinkle of sea salt.
La Fonte San Marzano Tomatoes are made with selected San Marzano tomatoes varieties, grown in Campania in an area between the provinces of Naples, Salerno, and Avellino, known for its fertile volcanic soil, high water table and ideal Mediterranean microclimate. These tomatoes are cultivated vertically, using wires attached to wooden supports, and are harvested manually between the summer months of August and September. They are then attentively sorted, steam peeled and packed in their tomato juice.
La Fonte San Marzano Tomatoes are PDO (protected designation of origin) certified and each can has its unique identification number. They are made with no sugar, no sweeteners added, and are free from artificial flavours, thickeners, or firming agents.
Packed in easy open, white lacquered, BPA free lining tinned cans.
Good to know: San Marzano tomatoes is known as Re Pomodoro or the King of Tomatoes.
